WE ARE WERRIBEE!
How exciting to see one of our teams back on the pitch last weekend. Our Women’s Outdoor team took the pitch on Sunday afternoon at Footscray where they will play for the next five weeks. This coming week we will see three more teams begin their summer season – Women’s Indoor and two Men’s Indoor Teams. Check the HV Fixture site to check on venues and times for all these teams. Good luck to all – great to see you back playing hockey.
We are currently looking at what hockey we can play at the Club before Christmas and will advise you once decisions are made.
Saturday 20th November will be another great step in our return to the Club and the sport we all love. Our Junior and Senior End of Season Get Togethers will be held. The purpose of both these events is to provide a causal social occasion for people to reconnect after the lockdowns.
In the morning we will be hosting a Junior Get Together to present the winter season trophies and enjoy a sausage sizzle. This event will be held outdoors so please dress for the weather. The focus is to catch up with our hockey mates.
In the evening we will have the Senior Get Together. (You must be double vaccinated to attend if you are 16 or over) Dress is smart casual, dress warm as we will be outside! We will be presenting trophies for the winter season, but the focus will be on reconnecting with our hockey family. We will be providing some casual seating and gazebos but predominantly we will be outside happily mingling with our hockey mates.
If you are attending, please make sure you pay $5 to Werribee Hockey Club Account BSB 063 622 Ac #1029 9766 by no later than Sunday 14th. No paying on the night!
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at these events.
Our Annual General Meeting is being held on Thursday 25th November at 7:30pm at the Club. You will receive further information re this via email. I look forward to seeing you there also.
As we come out of lockdown and enjoy getting out and shopping, please remember our loyal sponsors. The contributions these businesses make ensure that we are a viable and functioning Club. The contributions ensure that we can keep our fees as low as possible and continue with the development of our Club. Remember they also did it hard during lockdown. Please ensure that you support them at every opportunity.
Tigers’ Clubhouse – a great venue for a meal and a night out – celebrate being able to catch up with friends. They provide a range of opportunities with social nights, a playground for kids and great meals.
Earle and Jill Motors – a great place to get everything done with the car – full servicing, brakes, road worthies.
Werribee Mitsubishi – check out great deals on new and used cars.
Victorian Fireplaces – for everything in relation to outdoor cooking and heating and indoor heating. Well worth the visit.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the Club in the not-too-distant future.
